Become a Forgotten Paws Foster!
Are you an animal lover who wants to make a difference in your community? Consider becoming a foster!
Fostering provides a temporary home for an animal while they are waiting to be adopted. Sometimes this means just waiting for their vetting to be done, and sometimes this means helping them trust humans again.
Our organization is entirely foster based and we rely on our fosters to help us save more animals. Learn more about what being a foster with Forgotten Paws means!
FAQs
Q: How do I apply to be a foster?
A: Click here to find our foster application!
Q: What are the costs associated with fostering?
A: There is absolutely no cost to you! We provide you with all the supplies you need and we’ll pay for all the vetting. All you need to do is provide a loving home.
Q: How will my foster get adopted?
A: We’ll post your foster on social media, websites like Petfinder, and we might even take them to an event to get some more exposure! We also have a partnership with PetSense in Goose Creek to help get cats and kittens adopted. However we always encourage our fosters to advocate for their fosters within their own circles as well.
Q: How long does fostering last?
A: Sometimes the process is very quick, maybe a week or two. But sometimes it can take a couple of months. Please keep this in mind when committing to fostering animals.
Q: I have personal pets, can I still foster?
A: Of course! As long as your pets and our animals get along, then we do not have an issue with you fostering. We do always recommend that people with personal pets have a way to separate all animals (like a spare bedroom) in case everyone needs a break.
