FAQs
Q: How do I apply?
A: Please click here for a link to the application
Q: Can I choose my own provider?
A: At this time no, our program is only set up to work with our selected providers. If you’re selected, we will send you instructions for how to coordinate with the vet.
Q: What happens after I apply?
A: Once you apply, our team will review your submission and verify if you are eligible for this program. Please note, we only issue a limited number of vouchers during each application cycle. If you meet the requirements, we will email you with a voucher. If your application isn’t approved, we will still reach out to you to advise and will send you additional resource options.
Q: How long do the vouchers last?
A: Vouchers are issued with an expiration date and will not be accepted beyond that date.
Q: Will I receive pre-op and post-op instructions for taking care of my pet?
A: Yes, the veterinary provider will offer specific pre-op instructions, as well as aftercare guidelines to ensure your pet’s comfort once they return home. Please take the time to read them thoroughly.
Q: How many pets can I have fixed under this program?
A: While there is no limit per household, you must apply for each pet separately and we cannot guarantee that multiple pets from one home will be issued a voucher in the same cycle.
Q: I live in Charleston County but I still need help. What do I do?
A: Charleston County actually has their own program called The Altered Pets Project! You can check them out here: https://thealteredpetsproject.com/
